What are your fishing charter rates?

We offer three trip options: 4-hour trips for $440, 6-hour trips for $560, and 8-hour trips for $660. All prices are per group (up to 2 anglers) and include all gear, tackle, snacks, and drinks.

What is included in the fishing trip?

Everything you need is provided: rods, reels, tackle, lures, Kind snack bars, and bottled water on ice. Just bring your Michigan fishing license, sunscreen, and layered clothing.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes, all anglers 17 and older need a valid Michigan fishing license. You can purchase one online at Michigan.gov/DNR or at local sporting goods stores.

Is this charter good for beginners or kids?

Absolutely! Captain Butch welcomes anglers of all skill levels, including children. He'll teach you the techniques and help you catch fish regardless of your experience.

What fish will we catch?

We target smallmouth bass, which Grand Traverse Bay is nationally known for. The bay holds excellent numbers of bass and trophy-sized fish are caught regularly.

What is the cancellation policy?

Deposits are non-refundable. However, if we need to cancel due to weather, you can reschedule for free to any available date.

Where do we meet for the charter?

The meeting location will be confirmed when you book. It's typically a boat launch in the Traverse City area on Grand Traverse Bay.

When is the best time of year to fish?

Accepted Answer

Our season runs April through October. Early summer (May-June) and fall (September-October) often produce the best smallmouth bass fishing, but we catch fish all season long.
